Dear Friends,

On the Fourth of July, America comes together to celebrate the history and democracy that our great nation is founded upon. Independence Day is a time to honor the patriots who fought for, and individuals who continue to protect our freedom. Wherever you are in Maryland’s 4th Congressional District on the Fourth, please join me in celebrating the true meaning of the holiday.

Here is a list of ways to show your patriotism safely and enthusiastically.
  • Independence Day fireworks are a timeless tradition, but they also pose a safety threat for adults and children alike. Enjoy fireworks in a safe environment by observing important safety guidelines to keep you and your community safe this Independence Day.

  • To show your patriotism throughout the year, you can personally request that a flag is flown over the United States Capitol Building and shipped to your home, so you can proudly display it in your neighborhood.

  • Gain a better understanding of our nation’s history and democracy by taking a tour of the Capitol, which my office can help you organize.

  • Remember the brave men and women who fought and continue to fight for our freedom by honoring them in any number of ways. Support these individuals by wearing a yellow ribbon, donating to military families, or thanking a soldier or veteran personally.
The United States of America is an example to the world of the importance of democracy and freedom for all. This July 4th, I ask you to join me in celebrating our history, diversity, and patriotism as we work together to overcome our shared challenges.

It is an honor and a privilege to represent Maryland’s 4th Congressional District and I wish you and your family a safe and happy Fourth of July.

Sincerely,

Donna
